The Benefits of a Turmeric Body Scrub
Turmeric’s anti-inflammatory properties help to hydrate the skin and keep it healthy. Hydration is the key to nice smooth skin in the cooler months. This Turmeric Body Scrub will not only remove the dead skin but help keep your skin hydrated as well. Turmeric is great for helping to treat skin issues such as: dry skin, inflammation, and redness.

- Three 4 oz. Jars
- 15 oz. Sugar
- 1 tsp. Turmeric Powder
- 1 oz. Hazelnut Oil or Olive Oil
- 1 oz. Natural Castile Liquid Soap Base or whatever liquid soap base you want to use
- Essential Oil for fragrance optional
- Preservative optional
Mix together your oil of choice (I used hazelnut), the Liquid Soap base, the preservative (if using) and the essential oil (I didn’t use any in this recipe) in a glass bowl or glass measuring cup. Whisk together until it is a milky white. Please check out this great informative post by Soap Queen on preservatives.
Add your sugar to a large glass bowl. Next add the turmeric and mix until evenly combined. I know it doesn’t seem like we are using a lot of turmeric – but turmeric can REALLY stain. Trust me – this is enough
The final step is to pour the soap and oil mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix well to combine.
We’re done! Transfer your Turmeric scrub into your jars with lids. I love to use it after showering!! Apply the scrub to your wet skin and scrub away! Rinse and enjoy the rest of your day!
I think that fall is my favorite month so I foresee many fall inspired DIY’s in my future!
